How the Fireplace HD System Works

The Fireplace Heat Distribution (HD) System converts a traditional wood-burning stove into a powerful source of heat. This system ensures warmth in every corner of your home just from burning wood.

Benefits of the Fireplace HD System

As natural gas and electricity costs rise, you’ll be able to save money on heat with the Fireplace HD System…without compromising your comfort.

Burning wood is a type of renewable energy. You can use the Fireplace HD System as a backup system, when natural gas or propane delivery is not readily available.

Or use the Fireplace HD System as the only heating system for your home. When you combine this system with a solar generator and battery bank, you get a fully independent, electronically controlled, off-grid central heating system.

The picture below shows the Fireplace HD System in action…

How the Fireplace HD System Works

The Fireplace Heat Distribution System distributes hot air produced by a wood-burning stove to multiple locations in the home at the same time.

The system’s specially designed, filter-equipped, forced air turbine circulates accumulated hot air from the heat chamber or cavity above the wood-burning stove.

The increased air pressure through the duct system makes sure hot air goes to the desired locations inside your home.

An in-wall, electronic controller controls the entire process. You can set the controller to auto or manual mode, as you prefer.

The Fireplace HD System with the right heat output from the wood-burning stove will ensure evenly distributed heat to an entire home up to 3,000 sq. ft. (ranch-style house). You will enjoy comfortable temperatures throughout the winter months.

Below you will see details of the five components of the Fireplace HD System…

  • Heat Radiator – dramatically improves the heat output and heat extraction produced by a wood-burning stove or a fireplace insert

  • Variable-Speed Turbine – designed to move hot air up to a temperature of 200°F

  • In-Wall, Electronic Rotational Speed Controller – equipped with a temperature sensor and an auto/manual mode

  • Hot-Air Distribution Box – has a 4” and 5” flexible duct system

  • Ceiling Vents – made of round, high-quality metal and aesthetic louvers to match any interior design

Next, you’ll see the heat chamber that houses the heat radiator…

HEAT CHAMBER

You’ll see the heat chamber in the picture to the right. It is suspended from the ceiling above a freestanding wood-burning stove with a 1” gap above the top of the stove to allow for upward air flow.

The walls built up around a metal fireplace insert are made of 2x4” (or 2x2”) metal studs with 250°F-rated insulation foam on the inside (optional) and finished with ½” fire-rated drywall.

For wood-burning, freestanding stoves, the heat chamber construction is limited to the three walls suspended from the ceiling.

In both versions of the heat chamber, the heat radiator, mounted on top of the stove or fireplace, dramatically increases the heat output. â€‹

The Fireplace HD System design has been well-known on the European market for over a decade. The system uses the heat generated by a wood-burning stove or fireplace to distribute warmth evenly to all areas of your home…bedrooms, home office, bathrooms, kitchen, living room, and so on, depending on the quantity and location of the ceiling vents.
