One American Homeowner’s Answer to Energy Independence

The owner of Unlimited Exposure, Inc., Borys Gronkowski, lives in northern Illinois. He also loves northern Wisconsin and southern Missouri, all places where trees grow in abundance.

His grandfather was born in Chicago in 1908. Around 1994, Borys and his parents moved to the United States from Poland.

Sometime before 2014, the Fireplace Heat Distribution (HD) System was invented in Poland and popularized throughout the European Union.

This system became an alternative to expensive natural gas or electric heating. The more often the system is used, the more it offsets electric or natural gas bills.

Borys first found out about the Fireplace HD System by reading magazines for builders in Poland, where they wrote about all sorts of innovations.

He decided that system would be useful and easy to install and use.

When Unlimited Exposure, Inc. began

Borys started his residential building company, Unlimited Exposure, Inc., in 2012.

In 2021, he expanded his business to include the Fireplace HD System. He’s the only distributor in North America for this system.

Initially, Borys’ house had conventional central heating with a natural gas furnace and air duct system.

While he still uses his central heating for when he’s away from home for an extended period of time, he loves to use the Fireplace HD System when he’s at home.

He simply loves the feel and amber flames of the fire.

It gives him peace and serenity, helping him to relax. At the same time, his entire home is warm from the fireplace.

The Fireplace HD System helps to save on heating bills, but also gives Borys a feeling of security. He looks at wood as being “free,” a renewable energy.

His country home has a water well, septic system, and now, more independent central heating when using his fireplace.

He thinks of the Fireplace HD System as a backup system, in case the furnace goes down or natural gas is not readily available.

And recently, Borys added four solar panels on his house and battery bank.

He is testing this system for independence from the electrical grid, if he needs it.

When Borys got his Fireplace HD System

Borys got his Fireplace HD System in 2018. He likes that it works smoothly.

During the summer months, he waits with anticipation for the off season and winter, so he can enjoy a wood fire and the Fireplace HD System.

He thinks the system is incredible.

He has the smallest version and thinks that it’s almost too powerful for his 1,500 sq. ft. lake house.

During the day, the Fireplace HD System is his only source of heat. Late at night, when he’s in bed, he lets the regular central heating take over for a few hours, until he’s ready for his morning cup of coffee.

Benefits of the Fireplace HD System

Borys enjoys the following benefits of the Fireplace HD System:

  • It dramatically reduces the monthly gas bill.

  • It constantly supplies heat through the duct system. Even if the outside door is open, the entire house stays very warm.

  • It’s very quiet compared to many older gas furnaces.

  • The system itself is maintenance-free.

  • There’s a sense of security, because during an unforeseen natural gas outage, he and his family will be warm.

For most of the States, you wouldn’t need heat in June, July, and August.

But in the mountains in the West, nights are cold even in summer. So, the Fireplace HD System could supply heat in the summer, too.

When Borys is away from home, the Fireplace HD System is plugged into electrical power on standby mode. The regular furnace is still operating.

Other options could be to use electric baseboard heaters to maintain a minimum temperature throughout the house, while you’re away.

He likes to enjoy his fireplace with family and friends, so he never tires of chopping wood.

For him, chopping wood is a form of daily or weekly accomplishment.

He tries to do most of the chopping in September, when it’s cooler outside. It gives him enough time to replenish the wood that was used during the previous season.

Borys says most fireplaces and wood-burning stoves accept 16” long pieces of wood.

Broadleaf hardwood…like oak, ash, maple, and birch…have the highest amount of “calories,” producing high heat.
